Rental Packages

Many operators offer all-inclusive packages (delivery, operation for the agreed hire period, all prints plus an album) while others give their best price for the basic rental and you add the extras you want. Less commonly, and mainly found with professional photographers who offer a photo booth solution no prints are included or offered during the photo shoot but you normally can pay post hire for the prints you desire either directly with the photographer or by taking the electronic copies to a printer.

Delivery Fees

Most operators will include delivery as standard within their designated free delivery area but  outside this they will charge an additional fee. The cost of this isn't always clear so be sure to check before committing.

Attendant Meals

Operators who provide an attendant for the duration of the hire will generally expect them to be fed. This is an additional cost you will need to factor into your budget and when comparing photo booth rental packages.

Payment terms

Always read the fine print as deposit amounts, payment plans and cancellation fees vary greatly from operator to operator.

Security bond

Some operators will ask for a bond to cover any damage done during your hire, especially for those operators that have unattended photo booths. Don’t despair – treat the booth well and the money will be returned to you after the hire.

Replacing photo booth props

If your package has photo booth props and any are broken or not returned, you may be charged a fee.

Rental deals and discounts

Often photo booth operators will do better deals for middle of the week, early booking or sometimes last minute hires. 

Charities and fundraisers

Is your event for a registered charity? Many photo booth rental operators will offer discounts or better deals to charities and fundraisers, it certainly never hurts to ask but don't expect them to do it for free for "the exposure" as exposure does not pay their bills. An ideal arrangement is to get a slightly cheaper rental and then charge guests a gold coin with the aim to recoup more money than the photo booth rental cost which is very achievable.

Coupon website deals

If you're thinking about booking via a coupon deal website, the best advice we can offer you is to beware! It might appear at the time you're getting a really good deal, but check the fine print, then double check it. The deals can have fairly restrictive conditions and often getting your preferred date, especially for a Friday or Saturday is not easy. If possible check with the photo booth operator before purchasing any coupon to see if your date is available and if that really is the full photo booth hire cost for what you want. Regardless your cheap deal may be at risk of being cancelled anytime so still be aware. This can often be the business model behind these cheap coupon deals. If the operator doesn’t get a better booking for your date, they will service your discount booking (rather than not have a booking at all) and you get a bargain. However, if the operator gets a higher paying booking for your date, there is a good chance they will cancel your booking in order to make more money.
